Blended Learning

a

Blended learning refers to any time a student learns in part, at a brick-and-mortar facility and through online delivery with student control over time, place, path or pace. Flipped learning is one of the most common forms of blended learning methodology. Flipped learning aims to take many of the passive learning activities like lecture and direct instruction out of the classroom, and replacing those activities with project and activity based learning methodology that engages students.  This allows teachers to facilitate application of knowledge, and moves the teacher away from the role of “sage on the stage” and into the role of the “guide on the side.

In addition, LUSD and MHHS have also partnered with Blendedschools.net, a non-profit organization that provides access to curriculum, units of study, Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), and professional development.
