Professional Pathways/ Seal of Biliteracy
MHHS Professional Pathways are an optional way for students to plan their high school courses and specialize in a certain area of interest. Students may choose to take a 3-4 course pathway sequence, which includes a capstone course, within this area to complete a pathway.
Pathway course selections compliment a college prep high school plan and demonstrate a student's dedication to education and training within a particular specialty area. Pursuing a pathway may help students prepare for careers and further education within that area. Completion of a Mountain House High School professional pathway culminates in special recognition upon graduation.
Students apply for pathway recognition in their senior year. Students may apply for recognition in more than one area if desired.
PLTW Professional Pathways (Engineering, Biomedical Science, and Computer Science):
PLTW students are better prepared for post-secondary studies and more likely to consider careers in critical STEM fields than their non-PLTW peers, research has shown. More than 100 colleges and universities are members of the PLTW College and University Partner Network, actively recruiting PLTW students and providing them with opportunities such as admissions preference, scholarships, and course credit.
