Course Description
SPEECH: One year class; Open to Grades 9-12 (Course may be repeated for credit.)
This course introduces students to the basic elements of public performance; with an emphasis on public speaking. The class will develop the writing and speaking skills of all students, in both informational and persuasive styles. In addition, the course will focus on the beginning acting techniques and creative expression, while developing skills in movement, voice, acting, improvisation, character analysis, performance, scene work, monologues, and so much more. All performances are designed to instill a sense of wonder and confidence as students communicate with others. Meets NCAA requirements. This course is anticipated to fulfill the UC/CSU āgā Elective area.
