A learning management system (LMS) is a software application or Web-based technology used to plan, implement, and assess a specific learning process. Typically, a learning management system provides an instructor with a way to create and deliver content, monitor student participation, ans assess student performance. A learning management system can also provide students with the ability to use interactive features such as threaded discussions, video conferencing, and discussion forums.

 The learning management system MHHS has decided to use is called Canvas. Canvas is an open-source learning management system that's revolutionizing the way we educate students. This open modern learning management system will be used to host content, textbooks, primary source documents, videos, quizzes, tests, and information that will help student keep track of their work and assignments, and help parents keep track of what's going on academically with their students.

 

How to set up your Parent Observer Account

 

Step 1: Go to the web address below and click onClick Here For an Account

Step 2: Fill in the Information


Step 3: Create a Pairing Code (Note: The pairing code has to be generated in the student’s account. They need to log in and follow the steps.)

  1. Click on “Account” and then “Settings.”
  2. Click “Pair with Observer” on the right hand of the screen.
  3.  A screen with the pairing code will pop up. Copy the code.

Step 4: Return to the parent sign in screen and fill in the pairing code. Click “Start Participating.”
