Science Lab Technician
Course Description
SCIENCE LAB TECHNICIAN: One year course; Open to Grades 11, 12. Course may be repeated for credit.
Students work with a Science teacher to assist with the operation of a science class and a laboratory classroom. In addition to teaching assistant responsibilities, Science Lab Techs are also asked to assistant in lab set-up - collecting equipment, testing equipment, measuring substances, making solutions, determining storage requirements of chemicals and storing them correctly, etc. or assist students during experiments/ lab. Students interested in this position should discuss with the science teacher they'd like to support. Students may not sign up for this course in the spring when they register for classes. They will select another elective and then put in a request for this course by emailing their counselor.
