AP Statistics
Course Description
AP STATISTICS: One year course; Prerequisite: Completion of Math 3 or higher.
This is an advanced placement course. The purpose of AP Statistics is to acquaint students with the basic tools of statistics and teach them how to apply these tools to everyday situations. Students will increase their awareness of the prevalence and relevance of statistical data to the information on which we base our decisions - both long and short term. Hopefully, this will result in students making better choices for themselves as well as for their families, communities, states, and country. This course fulfills the UC/CSU ācā requirement. This course is also eligible for UC honors distinction. Meets NCAA requirements. The AP Course is intended to be taken by students who will take the AP exam during May. Approximate cost of each AP exam is $100.
