Biology of the Living Earth
Course Description
BIOLOGY: Living Earth: One year course; Open to Grades 9-12.
This is a first year course which introduces students to the study of life from the cellular level to the biosphere as a whole. Major concepts covered throughout the year include Structure and Function, Matter and Energy, Interdependence of Organisms, Inheritance and Natural Selection. The course includes critical biological issues which profoundly affect the biosphere such as global warming, waste management and pollution and connected Earth Science standards outlined in the Next Generation Science Standards. This course is anticipated to fulfill the UC/CSU ādā lab science requirement. Meets NCAA requirements.
