Honors Chemistry
Course Description
HONORS CHEMISTRY: One year course; Open to grades 9-12. Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in Math II or higher (completion of Math I and Biology with a grade of C or higher.) Recommended: Completion of Biology with a B or higher.
This is a first year course intended for students interested in physical sciences and willing to spend additional time outside the classroom mastering content and working on individual and group projects. Course content is similar to Chemistry which introduces students to the nature of materials in our world and how they change and combine including Earth Science Standards outlined in the Next Generation Science Standards and will prepare students for AP Chemistry. Students should expect to spend time outside of class, especially in the areas of research, problem solving, and preparation of lab reports and summer assignment. This course fulfills UC/CSU “d” lab science requirement. Meets NCAA requirements.
