Course Description

ADVANCED DRAMA: One Year Course; Open to Grades 11-12. Prerequisite: Drama 2 (or equivalent).

This is a performance based class designed to allow the experienced performer to practice his/her skills with more complex acting styles and materials. First Semester, students work on writing, producing, and directing a performance piece or play stage performance. Second semester, students will perform abbreviate versions of plays or musicals consistent with texts being studied in the English classes at MHHS. Students are required to complete 10 hours of outside rehearsal/performance per semester. Students will also see one live theater performance and write a production critique each semester. Seniors are expected to give a senior showcase performance as their final second semester Anticipated to fulfill UC/CSU “f “ requirement.
