Course Description
MARCHING BAND: One semester course; Open to grades 9-12. Course may be repeated for credit. Experience on a band instrument is required. Prerequisite: Concurrent Enrollment in Symphonic Band.
A performance-based class for wind/percussion students which performs at school and community functions as well as at competitions and festivals through the first semester. Assessment is based on participation and improvement in class and at performances. After school practices and performances are requirements of this course. Mustang Brigade Marching Band members are required to attend instrumental performances at various events throughout the first Semester. Rehearsals are held after school and weekends. Activities include home football games, tournaments, parades, and other trips. Open to all students upon teacher approval. Sports conflicts will be resolved with the teacher. This course can count as waiver for 2nd year of P.E. if student passes the Fitnessgram test. Student must participate in 4 seasons of Marching band to receive the P.E. Waiver.
