The 2025 Prom is fast approaching! It will be held on May 10, 2025, at the Exploratorium in San Francisco.
To attend, students must have fewer than 36 unexcused single-period absences. Any student with 36 or more unexcused (period) absences by April 28 will be ineligible to attend, even if they have already purchased a ticket. Tickets are non-refundable.
Checking & Clearing Absences:
Students are responsible for monitoring their attendance and addressing any unexcused absences. Opportunities to recover absences include:
- Saturday School: Clears 1 full-day absence, 8 single-period absences, OR 10 tardies
- Friday Reflection Room: Clears 4 single-period absences OR 5 tardies
Truancy & Eligibility:
Per Administrative Regulation 5113.1(b) and Education Code 48260, students with excessive unexcused absences may be classified as truant:
- Level 1: 3 full days / 18 periods
- Level 2: 6 full days / 36 periods (Prom ineligibility threshold)
- Level 3: 9 full days / 54 periods
