At the State DECA Conference held in Anaheim in early March, Mr. Gautam Vij was recognized for being chosen for the DECA Parent of the Year award for the state of California. Many DECA chapters from around the state submitted nominations, and Mr Vij was chosen, a tremendous recognition. Mr. Vij has contributed his time and efforts in supporting the MHHS DECA chapter and our students for several years. He has served as judge at regional competitions and the intramural high school DECA competitions. He continues to support the chapter as a judge at our conferences. Mr. Vij aslo volunteers his time to serve as an advisory board member for the Career Technical Education Business Pathway at the high school and has helped strengthen the pathway with recommendations for curriculum development and growth. In addition, Mr. Vij has supported students in coming to classrooms to give presentations and help students in pursuing business-related career goals.
The MHHS DECA chapter, as well our students, is very fortunate to have Mr. Vij as such a valuable resource and support.
