.MHHS College Night is Back!

The MHHS Counseling Department is excited to announce the return of our in-person College Night. Join us to get the essential information you need to prepare for the road to college!

What to Expect:

  • Multiple Breakout Sessions: Hosted by our counselors covering various college prep topics.

  • Can't make it? Don’t worry! Presentation resources will be posted to the MHHS website after the event.

Choosing a College Campus, Major & Other Considerations

In this presentation, attendees will learn more about how to choose a college that is going to fit all their needs. We will be looking at creating a balanced list of schools to apply to, the different types of college campuses, financial considerations, how to choose a college major, and other important factors to consider when making this decision. 

  • UC/CSU GPA Calculation

UC and CSU applications use a specific GPA when applying. In this presentation, attendees will learn how to calculate their specific UC/CSU GPA. 

  • Naviance & College Research

In this presentation, attendees will learn how to utilize their student/parent Naviance account to research colleges. All MHHS students/parents have access to a Naviance account.

  • A-G Eligibility

In this presentation, attendees will learn what the A-G requirements are to be eligible to apply to UC and CSU Campuses. 

  • 4-Year Planning

In this presentation, attendees will learn how to create a 4-year plan (for High School) to ensure they are meeting graduation requirements, A-G college requirements, and ways to make themselves competitive for college applications. 

  • Community College Classes (in HS)

In this presentation, attendees will learn how to take community college classes while in HS. 

  • Financial Aid 101

In this presentation, attendees will hear from Financial Aid Representatives (from Delta College) to learn more about applying for financial aid for college. Discussion will include information about the FAFSA application, CA Dream Act application, and Scholarship opportunities.
