AP Human Geography

Course Description

AP HUMAN GEOGRAPHY:  One year course:  Open to grades 10, 11, 12; Fulfills the world history requirement for graduation; recommended for students who received an A in Global Studies

AP Human Geography introduces students to the systematic study of patterns and processes that have shaped human understanding, use, and alteration of Earth's surface. Students employ spatial concepts and landscape analysis to examine human social organization and its environmental consequences. They also learn about the methods and tools geographers use in their science and practice. It is an excellent course for preparing students to become geo-literate youth and adults.  The course will prepare students to pass the AP Human Geography examination given in May.   Fulfills UC/CSU “a” requirement. Meets NCAA requirements.
