Student Leadership Council (SLC) with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) are opening applications for Student Ambassadors for our 2023 cohort.

.The SLC is the first and only youth leadership program in the VA focused solely on creating leaders. We are opening our applications for Student Ambassadors for our 2023 cohort.  Our mission at the SLC is to empower students with the resources, training, and experiences to develop into servant leaders. The ambassadors' complete leadership coursework and work on individual and national projects to impact the Veteran community. The program will run from May through August and students can be expected to contribute generally 5 hours per week. Students will be able to accrue at least 75-100 volunteer service hours through the completion of the program, have the opportunity to be nominated as an outstanding ambassador, and have the chance to hear from great leaders. Our organization has also been certified to award the President's Volunteer Service Award.

The SLC Student Ambassadors that are in our program have been awarded over $200,000 in scholarships!!!

We are looking to bring on bright young students from across the nation to serve the Veteran community. Please share our attached interest form and resources with students who would like to give back.

Our full application is open in January, and we currently have this interest form for any interested students: Student Interest Form
