MHHS: Student Safety

.MHHS: Student Safety

Good afternoon, MHHS Parents and Guardians,

As the school year is underway, I would like to address two important matters that require your attention and assistance.

1. Door Dash and Food Delivery Services: Recently, we have observed an increase in the use of food delivery services such as DoorDash and similar platforms during school hours. While we understand the convenience it offers to busy families, we must prioritize the safety and well-being of our students. Effective immediately, we are implementing a school policy that prohibits the use of food delivery services to deliver meals or snacks to students during school hours. This policy applies to all grades and all students on campus. We kindly request that you make appropriate arrangements to ensure your child has a packed lunch or participates in our school's lunch program.

We believe that promoting healthy eating habits and fostering social interactions during lunchtime are crucial aspects of our students' development. Moreover, the presence of delivery drivers on campus can pose potential safety risks to our students. Therefore, we urge your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this policy.

2. Adults Entering Campus During School Hours: The safety and security of our students are paramount concerns for us. To maintain a safe environment, it is essential that we limit access to the campus during instructional time. All parents and guardians must refrain from entering the school grounds during the school day unless there is a pre-scheduled appointment or a school-approved event. For any necessary visits, please ensure that you sign in at the main office and wear a visitor's badge at all times.

If you need to pick up your child early or drop off forgotten items, we ask that you notify the school office in advance to arrange a smooth and safe process. Our staff members are dedicated to ensuring your child's well-being, and we appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a secure and focused learning environment.

Lastly, I want to extend my gratitude for your continued support and cooperation. By working together, we can create a safer and more enriching environment for our students to thrive academically and personally.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office. We are here to assist you and address any issues that may arise. Thank you for entrusting your child's education to us, and we look forward to a successful and fulfilling academic year.

Sincerely,

Adam Auerbach, M.Ed.
