MHHS Speech & Debate Compete at the University of the Pacific Invitationals

.Hello everyone,
MHHS Speech & Debate Compete at the University of the Pacific Invitationals on 10/28-10/29. Awards could not be achieved without the help and support of admin and office staff in allowing our team to compete at such invitationals. Our students can only be successful when these opportunities are provided to them, so we very much appreciate all of you for allowing us to continue to be successful.

This prestigious tournament in Stockton, California, had bid opportunities for the Tournament of Champions (TOC), the highest level of forensics competition. Our team took full advantage of this, with Sweekrit Bhatnagar and Raihan Wicaksono obtaining a gold TOC bid for Public Forum debate and qualifying to the competition, and Anjana Bharathiraja getting a TOC bid in Original Oratory speaking. This is also the first time in our local league’s history where a Public Forum team has qualified to the Tournament of Champions!

The rest of our competitors also did extremely well, getting a variety of awards.

Anjana Bharatiraja: 2nd place in Open Original Oratory, 3rd place in Open Extemporaneous Speaking

Sweekrit Bhatnagar and Raihan Wicaksono: 2nd place in Open Public Forum debate

Shreya Lakshmanan: 3rd place in Open Impromptu Speaking, 3rd place in Open Program Oral Interpretation, 4th place in Open Informative Speaking, 3rd place speech sweepstakes.

Tvishi Medathana: 3rd place in Podcasting, 5th place in Open Informative Speaking

Aarush Narayanan: 4th place in Open Humorous Interpretation

Sidharth Sangepalli: 6th place in Open Impromptu Speaking

We hope to have your continued support of the team to allow our students to continue to grow and learn in forensics!

Thank you,
