This year, the Mountain House High School DECA chapter has truly outdone itself, showcasing the hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm of its 211 members at our annual MiniComp. With 250 attendees, the event was not just a competition but a celebration of business education and personal growth. Members participated in a variety of events, including written and roleplay competitions, designed to test their business knowledge and 21st-century thinking skills in a competitive setting.
To help our members prepare for this event, we held ten "Diamond Drills" each week, where students practiced diverse skills, from finance roleplays to integrated marketing campaigns and entrepreneurship writtens. This rigorous preparation helped our members shine during the MiniComp, and the results were a testament to their hard work. Top competitors were recognized with glass awards for the top three in each event and finalist certificates for the top ten.
Students took part in various DECA events (Figure 1 and Figure 2) designed to test their business knowledge and 21st century thinking skills. MiniComp offered members a valuable opportunity to progress as business leaders before their next conference: Northern California Regionals!
A special thank you to our NorCal State officers, California State DECA President Diya Jain, and Coach JP of Prolific Hoops for speaking at our MiniComp Speaker Series. Their insights on personal branding and entrepreneurship inspired our members to push their limits and embrace leadership in business.
We are thrilled to announce that 143 of our members qualified for the upcoming NorCal Regional Conference, which will take place in San Ramon. This accomplishment reflects the relentless efforts of our students, chapter advisors, and all those who contributed to the event's success. We are incredibly proud to represent Mountain House High School and are excited to continue nurturing the next generation of business leaders.
Thank you to our advisors, Mrs. Cristin Caldwell and Dr. Kerry Moquett, our alumni, judges, and sponsors for your unwavering support. The future of Mountain House High School DECA is bright, and we look forward to the opportunities ahead!
