Opportunities to be a DECA Competition Judge and CTE Business Advisory Board MemberHello Mustang Families,
As one of the business teachers at the high school and as the DECA Advisor, I am requesting
your help with two business-related elements.
1. I am looking for community members who would be interested in joining the CTE Business
Pathway as members of the Business Advisory Board. Time commitment is two meetings per
year for approximately one hour each. Meetings are held virtually. Members would provide
guidance, recommendations, and support for the CTE Business classes and curriculum. Advisors
have served as guest speakers in classes and provided guidance in curriculum development and
enhancements. We are looking for community members who have a background in business or
have professional experience in various business sectors.
2. Additionally, I am looking for judges to judge DECA competitive events at the regional
conference in San Ramon in January. The judging takes place on January 17 at the Marriott
Hotel in San Ramon from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Judging involves meeting with students who are giving
formal presentations and doing role play scenarios regarding various business situations, and
judging the presentations. Students from schools in Northern California will be competing.
Judges will receive training that morning prior to the competition events.

Northern California event in San Ramon the weekend of the 16th-18th. Judges are needed for
