Advanced Placement (AP) Home

Advanced Placement (AP) courses provide high school students with the opportunity to engage in college-level coursework and take nationally recognized exams administered by the College Board. These courses are academically rigorous and require a significant time commitment outside of class.
AP courses can help you earn college credit, save time and money, and stand out on college applications. They also offer flexibility for future academic plans like changing majors, studying abroad, or pursuing internships.
What to Expect
- Time Commitment: Students should expect to spend at least 40 minutes per night per AP course on homework and studying.
- Summer Work: Many AP courses require summer assignments to prepare for the school year ahead.
- Exams: AP exams take place in May and include multiple-choice and free-response sections.
