Health Department
The Health Education program at Mountain House High School focuses on equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed, healthy decisions throughout their lives. Our courses emphasize physical health, mental wellness, emotional well-being, and practical life readiness.
All freshmen are required to take a state-mandated Health Education course, which covers a wide range of wellness topics, including nutrition, mental health, substance use prevention, healthy relationships, and comprehensive sex education, in alignment with California state standards.
Seniors complete Adulting 101, a required course designed to prepare students for life after high school. In this course, students explore essential real-world topics, including self-care, basic cooking, budgeting, financial literacy, and everyday life skills that promote independence and responsibility.
Through both foundational health instruction and practical life preparation, the Health Education Department is committed to empowering students to thrive personally, socially, and academically as they transition into adulthood.
