AP Psychology

Course Description

AP PSYCHOLOGY: One year course; open to grade 10, 11, 12.  

The course introduces students to the study of human behavior and mental processes. They will explore and apply psychological theories, key concepts, and phenomena associated with such topics as the biological bases of behavior, sensation and perception, learning and cognition, motivation, developmental psychology, testing and individual differences, treatment of abnormal behavior and social psychology. An emphasis will be placed on research methods, ethical considerations, evaluating claims, and effectively communicating ideas. The course will prepare students to pass the AP Psychology examination given in May. Fulfills UC/CSU ā€œgā€ elective. Meets NCAA requirements.
