8th Grade Accelerated Math

Lammersville Unified School District students who have completed the Accelerated Math pathway while attending 6th through 8th grade at Mountain House High School have the ability to enroll in the Math 1 course at the high school.  These students attend Math during the first period of the day at the high school site and return to their K-8 schools for the rest of the school day.  Students in this program are given high school credit.  The grade that they receive will be their first grade on their official high school transcript.
8th grade students who have taken accelerated math outside the Lammersville Unified School District prior to transferring to the district may also be eligible to enroll in 8th grade accelerated math 1.  Students should work closely with their new K-8 school administrator to determine if the out-of-district accelerated math courses qualify the student to enter 8th grade math 1 at MHHS.
Accelerated Math 1 During COVID
In-person instruction for Math 1 during the 2020-2021 school year will not be possible due to conflicting schedules during both distance learning, and when-and-if we return to face-to-face instruction.  As such, Math 1 courses will be be a fully online course monitored and facilitated by math teachers at MHHS, and students will meet with teachers twice a week in order to get additional support.  In addition, teachers will be available for support at times outside their regular class times.  Students and parents should check with the teacher to determine availability.  Our aim is to assist students as much as possible during this time.

For more information about the 8th grade Math 1 course, please see the slide show below for information presented and shared with all students and parents at a virtual meeting and via email at the beginning of the school year.
