Mustang Online Pathway

Online Course Overview

Through a partnership with Edgenuity, MHHS offers over 80 UC-approved college-preparatory courses, including standard, honors, and AP options. Refer to the MHHS Course Catalog (starting on page 27).

How Online Courses Work

Step 1: Orientation Week

  • Students meet their teacher in person, learn expectations, and identify the teacher's location in the Learning Commons.

Step 2: Independent Coursework

  • Students follow the course map with set due dates, completing assignments such as learning videos, quizzes, essays, and projects.

Step 3: Unit Testing

  • All tests must be taken in person using a school-issued device.
  • After completing a test, students progress to the next unit.

Attendance Policy

Attendance is based on progress: The teacher assigned to the course takes attendance at the start of each period. If a student is behind the course map due dates, they will be marked absent unless they are physically present with their teacher and working on the course.

Flexibility: Students may work ahead and complete courses early. Attendance is no longer required once the course is completed.

Entrance Requirements

Online courses at MHHS are rigorous and designed to prepare students for college. Before enrolling, students and parents should consider the following:

  • Are you comfortable communicating electronically?
  • Can you dedicate 4–5 hours per week per course?
  • Are you self-motivated and capable of managing your time effectively?
  • Do you enjoy working independently?
  • Can you take the initiative to contact your instructor when needed?
